I Support GMO Labeling in Texas

At the moment, no legislation has been introduced in Texas, but we need your help in assisting local leaders, who are working to raise awareness of genetically engineered foods in our food supply and promote GMO labeling with every chance they get.

Right To Know GMO is an opportunity for the citizens of Texas to help establish the state as one of the front-runners in supporting this country's freedom of choice by demanding to know what’s in our food.

Polls regularly show that more than 90% of Americans want labeling of genetically engineered foods, and a 2011 poll found that GMO labeling has broad bipartisan support, with 89% of Republicans, 90% of Independents and 93% of Democrats favor GMO labeling in the U.S.

Please take a moment to let you're Governor, Senators, and Representatives that you have a right to know what's in the food that we're eating and feeding our families.

A copy of your letter of support will be delivered to Governor Abbot, your Senators and Representatives.

Dear Governor Abbott, Senators and Representatives of the Texas Legislature,

As your constituent, I encourage you to support legislation that would label genetically engineered foods in Texas.

Already, more than 60 other countries around the world inform their citizens if their food has been genetically engineered in a laboratory with simple labels, and it's time that we share that basic right. If the same companies can label foods containing GMOs (genetically modified organisms) in Russia, China and South Africa, I believe they should label them in Texas as well.

Join thousands of mothers, farmers and advocates in helping Texas lead the way on labeling of genetically engineered foods, because we have a right to know what's in the food that we're eating and feeding our families.

Sincerely,
